Happy New Year!

More than a million people flocked to the harbour to catch a glimpse of the dazzling firework show last night. The Sydney countdown party is often heralded as the best New Year celebration in the world, and events like these make me feel very lucky to be living in Sydney.

We managed to catch the first of the two remarkable fireworks shows at 9pm, an early family-orientated taster before the main event at midnight.

An estimated 1.5 million spectators around the harbour, from the Cockle Bay, Darling Harbour, Pyrmont Bridge to The Rock, Circular Quay, Opera House and of course the Harbour Bridge, which is the centrepiece of the firework displays.

Awesome eh? I am looking forward to another exciting year ahead. Happy New Year folks!
