Here are some other Taiwan specialties that you should not miss:-

A dessert consisting of shaved ice and your choice of toppings, ranging from red beans, green beans to mango, yam, grass jelly and peanuts.

Grilled squids and grilled ham rolls with condiments.

Thickened soup with cuttlefish wrapped in fish paste.

Meat balls made from pork and shrimp paste in a thickened soup. Vinegar is often added to enhance the flavour.

红烧羊肉湯 - Chunks of tender muttons in a thick soup. We had this wonderful rich soup in an eatery called "一碗小羊肉".

Gigantic sausages grilled to perfection with a sweet taste.

Stewed pork knuckles. This goes very well with plain rice.

Also known as tempura, it is a deep-fried crispy snack made from starch, egg york and fish paste.

Minced fatty pork served on rice. It has a delightful aroma because of the lard used in pork stew.

A cooling gelatinous dessert made from the seeds of a fig-like fruit. Served on ice with lemon squash.

臭豆腐 - Known as the stinky tou fu, it is fermented tou fu being deep fried and served with a variety of sauces . Smell like strong cheese or rotten egg but it's a delicacy enjoyed by many. An acquired taste.

Extra large crispy and juicy fried chicken fillet sprinkled with chilli pepper and spices that gives a fiery burst of flavours in the mouth. Finger licking good!
