There have been so much going on the past two and a half weeks, which explains the lack of updates on this blog.
The apartment we live in had a fire early this month, caused by a massive gas explosion that tore a hole through our building. The blast woke everyone up in the middle of the night, the building shook and we were literally running for our lives, still in our PJ. Luckily B managed to grab his wallet and mobile phone and I only got the keys. All residents were evacuated and the whole place was sealed as a "crime scene". We were "homeless" for a few days while the police carried out investigations and our apartment was being assessed for structural damage. One guy was severely burned and another suffered minor injury. Police are still investigating what caused the gas blast in the Nando's chicken shop located just behind our apartment. The shop was completely gutted, glasses and debries everywhere across the roads. The impact was so great that some of the apartments' windows were blown off and balcony doors fell. The explosion can be heard even miles away, as far as the suburbs near the airport. It's just such horrible and terrified experience....
A week later, the shopping centre near our apartment (one block away) had another fire when the electrical substation exploded. About 2000 people were evacuated. Thank god no one was seriously hurt.
What a way to start the new year, welcoming CNY with a blast!

Hello my dear friends
Thanks for your concern. We are fine, already moved back to the apartment and life is pretty much back on track. This is one hell of an experience, thought this only happened in movies.
We are treasuring each day and the time spent together. I hope you will do the same. :)
