Method
Marinate minced pork with soy sauce, set aside. Peeled potato and carrot, diced into 1cm cubes. Cut button mushrooms into slices. (Omit if you do not have mushrooms.)

Add rice, potato and carrot to a pot of water. Once boiled, turn on low heat and let it bubble for 45 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent rice from sticking to the pot.
Add mushrooms and minced pork to porridge, stir and cook for 3 minutes. Add salt to taste. Turn off the fire. Leave it simmer for 5-10 minutes with the lid covered. Serve hot with dash of pepper and chopped coriander leaves, if any.
